A Message From Pastor Paul
Hello, NGCC!
I love the start of spring…it means winter is over and summer is coming! With Spring, we have some exciting new opportunities.
We will be launching our brand new program, Max Easter! This 7-week outreach ministry will maximize our potential to reach our community for Jesus Christ. So, Church, let’s get ready to make an impact for the Kingdom of God this Easter and beyond. We are in the middle of a sermon series – “Building a Healthy Body” – that will certainly strengthen and unite us to be the Church Jesus desires.
We also have begun a new bible study small group on Wednesday nights at the church called “Going Deeper in the Word”. For those who love learning about the Word of God and want to go deeper, come join us as we take a journey with Jesus through the book of Mark.
Spring is a time for new beginnings and that is just what we are doing. For the first time ever, we will have a Spanish service on Easter Sunday April 21 @ 2PM.
Join me in praying for our church to join Jesus and move forward in service this Spring. Praise be to King Jesus as we celebrate His Resurrection!
Praying for God’s richest blessings,
Pastor Paul

NGCC Ministry News and Events
Children’s Ministry
Spring is such an exciting time of year! Everything becomes brand new! Trees grow new leaves, flowers bloom, and the green grass returns. We shake off those wintertime blues and embrace the beautiful sunshine. We enjoy nice warm spring days when we can take our children’s classes outside to witness God’s creation wake back up!
As Our Easter time approaches you will see the need for the children’s ministry to gain in their volunteer force! We now have infants coming to church on a regular basis! With growth the need for volunteers does increase. Our goal is to have a teacher and assistant in our nursery room, young children room, and older children children room. We need volunteers that are passionate about teaching children about Jesus! The ultimate goal is have 24 volunteers! Each set of teachers and assistants will be responsible for teaching once a month! That’s it! Training is available. We are having a training coming up on Saturday, March 30th! Please see Lena if you are interested. All volunteers that work with our children must be members for 6 months and pass a background check.
Easter Egg Hunt is coming! Please join us and invite your friends and family on Saturday, April 20th at 1:00pm for crafts, games, an introduction to this year’s Hero themed VBS and of course… An Easter Egg Hunt to finish out the day!
Family Nights! Please join us on Friday, April 26th at 6:00pm for family fun activities! This will be a fun night of games, snacks, and pizza! What’s the catch?? It’s for the entire family and friends! Our goal is host a family night each month providing it is well attended! Please see Lena for more information!
In Christ,
Lena Lowry — Children’s Ministry Leader

Women’s Ministry
Ladies! Please continue to keep our leader, Maureen in your prayers. We will once again begin meeting in late April or May. Keep an eye out in the bulletin for updates!
Men’s Ministry
Hey guys, winter is about over and the Men’s Ministry is springing forward with new ministry opportunities and fellowship activities.
The 2019 IGNITE Men’s Impact Weekend in Lynchburg, Virginia is March 15-16 and features several good speakers such as James MacDonald, Jack Graham and comedian Jeff Foxworthy. Also, musician Mac Powell from the band Third Day will be giving a concert and there are plenty of workshops of diverse topics. Join our group as we gear up to be challenged to walk strong in our faith, worship our Father God, and seek what He has planned for us to do in 2019 as a band of brothers.
Get connected into this ministry and stay up on our events via the church bulletin, our website, the church phone app and / or the Men’s Facebook group page.
Please share your thoughts and ideas for fellowship and ministry opportunities to Men’s Ministry leader Joe Fleming. Also available via email at joe@northglenchurch.com and write in any ideas you have on the men’s bulletin board at church.
Ecclesiastes 4: 9 – 10a – Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.
Homeless Ministry
The homeless ministry meets every first Saturday of the month at 9:00am to take food out into the community for the homeless. Please keep the homeless in your prayers!
Please see me for more information.

Food Pantry
Thank you to everyone that participated in The Soup… Er Bowl food collection! Through your efforts we were able to put some really good food into the pantry!
When shopping, please consider picking up an extra item or two so that we may be able to keep the pantry fully stocked for those in need! Thanks so much!
Coffee House News
Help at the Coffee House
For those who are interested in donating food to the ministry, the sign-up sheet for our needs will be posted on the bulletin board in the hall. Besides serving through donations, there are many areas of service with this ministry: serving food, cleaning up afterwards to place the church back in order for Sunday, setting up Wednesday night before the event, greeting newcomers throughout the evening, selling coffee house tee shirts, ensuring supplies even in the bathrooms are stocked, and promoting the events through passing out fliers and sharing on Facebook. The help from the members, families, and friends is much appreciated as we serve the community together.
As far as child care, we do not have a standing commitment of caregivers. If you are interested, you must be an active member of North Glen Community Church for six months and pass a background check. Please see Julie Drenning if you are interested in being part of this ministry. Commitment would be from 8-10pm. There are specific guidelines to keep our children safe during this time.
Thanks for supporting and promoting SNL Coffee House. We are in our 25th year, holding once a month events. If there is child care for ages 5 through 5th grade, it will be included in an announcement posted to the church and Coffee House Facebook pages. Parents or guardians must check in and pick up their children by 10pm to allow the caregivers to clean up the rooms for Sunday morning.
PS: Don’t forget that we also have long and short sleeve Coffee House t-shirts for sale. See logos below of the front and back. Shirts come in short sleeve ($10) and long sleeve ($15) in gray, black, purple, and orange. We are ‘On a Mission from God’. Thanks for your support.

Upcoming Events for the Spring
On March 16:
Based upon feedback received from our regular attenders, Full Gospel Boogie Band will join us twice a year. Our first coffee house of the Spring will be held on March 16, from 8-10pm, doors open at 7pm for food and fellowship.
The Band is well known for the sound of their classic rock parodies that have had their lyrics sanctified and is a mixture of The Blues Brothers, ZZ Top, The Stones, Cream, Hank Williams, Jr., Lynyrd Skynyrd, well, you get the idea. The group also performs original songs with an upfront, uncompromising gospel message. If you want to hear any of their music, visit http://www.fullgospelboogieband.com. Merchandise and CDs will be available at the concert.
On April 20:
On April 20th, Holy Smoke will be performing. Holy Smoke has been together for 21 years.
Visit them at http://www.holysmokeband.com for upcoming events as well as merchandise.
On May 18:
On May 18th, SevenLove’s Christian Funk/Gospel will bless us that evening. Sevenlovebegan its ministry in 1998. They have a 70’s-80’s hard Funk Rock R&B sound that doesn’t water down the Jesus lyrics. Their mission is to to utilize the tool of urban contemporary music to minister to those who wrestle with the issue of living boldly for Christ in this present world-while tearing down man-made traditions that have prevented people from appreciating God!
