A Message From Pastor Paul
NGCC: Its time for us to “Fall Back” to our First Love!
Fall is here and we started September off with a new sermon series on Life Changing Prayer. We began focusing on The Throne of Grace in the first week of September. We came back on Labor Day Monday for an awesome Prayer and Fasting Service.
We will be focusing on Leadership with the Lead Like Jesus book study. There will be 21 sessions to help develop current leaders and to raise up new leaders in His Church. NGCC will also have another new series entitled “Overcomer” which will help us to get victory in the storms of life.
This Fall will be a great opportunity for growth in “Becoming a House of Prayer.” As a united church, we will learn to lead others and overcome life’s challenges.
Church, please do not forsake the assembling of ourselves as some are in the habit of doing. How are we going to grow together if we don’t come together? Let’s make a real commitment to be a Family of God by loving others just as Jesus loves us.
Blessings in Christ Jesus,
Pastor Paul

NGCC Ministry News and Events
Kingdom Kids Children’s Ministry
Hi Everyone:
I just wanted to take a brief moment to say what an honor it is to be the interim Children’s Ministry Leader once again here at NGCC! We take very seriously the time we have to teach your children every Sunday morning and Wednesday evening at Kingdom Kids.
Our class schedule is as follows::
- Children ages 4 through 7 will continue to be taught by me during the 11am service.
- Older children 8 through 11 will continue to be taught by Mrs. Sharon Mager upstairs.
- Ms. Kristina has our babies and toddlers (also located downstairs)..
We are currently getting geared up for our Harvest Festival on October 20th. We will also be working with our Bridge Builders ministry to work with the North Glen Elementary School this year.
Currently, we have vacancies in our children’s ministry. If you could spare an hour.- just an hour a month – we could really use your contribution. You would bless our children by picking a week to teach or even assist in a classroom. With the children just getting back to school and the things of this world impacting their lives, we have no time to be complacent. We need to be about our Father’s business. We need to love these kids and show them the LOVE OF JESUS… NOW.
Please let me know if you would like to help out. We do background checks and train all volunteers who work with our precious children.
In Christ,
Kim Gayleard

Youth Ministry
Our youth are learning Bible basics from Genesis, with in-depth study. We are using the scriptures as apologetic tools, looking forward with the goal of understanding WHY God had to send Jesus and the overall story of redemption. Another emphasis is teaching about the Bible. We have many that have literacy issues. At least one girl was only in church once (at a funeral) before attending youth group.
The biggest change has been the wonderful blessing of having Femi Kolawole join us as a youth intern/associate. Femi, a member of Redemption Church and highly recommended, has been fabulous, and the kids love him. He assists in many ways by organizing games, helping with the studies, and generally building bonds with the students.
In August, we went bowling – an event primarily attended by our senior high students. We are hoping to make more inroads with this group that is an area where Femi will be a big help!
Upcoming events include an overnight retreat trip to Skycroft Conference Center in October. We’re hoping to secure a young adult speaker for this trip. We are doing several fundraisers, including a bake sale and possible carwash plus a Chick-Fil-A night later in September. Funds raised will help support Femi’s small stipend and supplement the cost of the retreat.
HELP – we need more workers. Right now we have just four workers, including myself, on a regular basis. Joining us once a month would be a big help…for example, volunteers committed to doing crafts with the girls once a month would be wonderful.
Additionally, we also need some donations – the chips called “Takis,” cupcakes, cookies, pretzels, popcorn, drinks, water and fruit/fruit flavored drinks are top snack choices. We also use little “prizes” such as gum, candy bars, fun pencils, small notebooks, gift cards for places like McDonald’s, Chick-Fil-A, and so on. (The group gets to win prizes for answering questions after our lessons, and for games.)
Finally, pray for our students. They are growing tremendously, but many are facing some tremendous obstacles.

Women’s Ministry
The women will have a fellowship on 9/14 at 6 pm at the church to study of God’s love. We will also have another round of “Hot Seat” for those that did not get a turn last time!
Join us on 10/6 for our ministry meeting.
We will meet again on 11/9 at 6 pm at the church. At this fellowship, we will have a special guest speaker to show us a unique way to memorize scripture using designs and colored pencils.
I am so excited! I pray all our NGCC ladies will attend and perhaps bring a friend!

Men’s Ministry
The summer is over and our recent Cookout and Bonfire Fellowship had a good turnout. Events like that help us to grow closer as brothers in Christ and to go deeper in our relationship with the Lord.
Another opportunity to strengthen our fellowship is our annual Men’s Fall Prayer Breakfast. The date for this will be announced very soon. We have had a strong attendance by the NGCC Men at these events. Please make plans to join the group for a full breakfast, a message from the Word by a guest speaker and a fun time of fellowship.
Another upcoming opportunity for ministry is the Fall Festival, which is an important outreach to our community. All hands on deck are needed for that event!
Operation Christmas Child will also be here soon. Our groups in the past have not only given the shoebox gifts, but have volunteered time at the local warehouse to prepare for distributing them for this world-wide, faith-based ministry. This is a fun and worthwhile time to prepare our hearts for the Christmas season as we focus on the gift of Jesus Christ to each of us.
Stay connected to the Men’s Ministry…look for our events on the church bulletin, our website, the church phone app and the Men’s Facebook group page.
Please share your thoughts and ideas for fellowship and ministry opportunities.

Music and Tech Ministry
Hello NGCC family!
Thank you all for being apart of worship at North Glen. Pastor Paul is awesome!
Right now we are going through some changes and are looking for some musicians and singers to be a part of the worship team. This includes sound people and tech people. If you feel you have a gift and God is calling you to use that gift, please let me know.
Thank you for being part of the family of North Glen. Keep us in prayer and stay blessed.

Food Pantry
When shopping, please consider picking up an extra item or two so that we may be able to keep the pantry fully stocked for those in need! Thanks so much!
Greeter’s Ministry
The Greeter’s Ministry is looking for people that love to smile and greet with a friendly Good Morning. We also have positions for people to hand out bulletins and work at our refreshment table. If you would like to help out and can be at church by 10:30 am, we welcome you. We do not want to miss greeting people as soon as they open the double doors! Your commitment would be just once a month.
If you are interested in joining, please see Bill or Julie Drenning.

Coffee House News
As we return from our Summer vacations and go into the Fall, we would like to remind you of indoor activities at SNL Coffee House on the third Saturday of every month. SNL wants to thank those who have supported this ministry over the past 25 years. This October, we begin the 26th year of this ministry! Please come out to support your local coffee house and the bands who lead us in worship and praising the Lord in celebration of life.
On September 21:
On September 21st (8-10pm), we have a special night with one of our own members – Frank Buckland. Frank will lead us in both classic and his own original tunes, such as “Ol’ Wayne Taylor”, “Water in the Boat” and “Caffeine and Nicotine Blues”. Joining Frank will be Dr. Barry Davis, who performs the older gospel soulful sounds of Andrae Crouch. Dr. Davis has played all over, including other countries, with a fine testimony.
All proceeds will go to Dr. Davis, who underwent both kidney and liver transplants. Feel free to visit Barry’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/theprofessorproject

On October 19th, Full Gospel Boogie Band will return again. We welcome them back as we enter our 26th year as a coffee house. Again thank you to those who have supported this ministry in both serving and attending. If you have never seen this band perform, you will be in for a treat. Come to here the sounds of the Blues Brothers and ZZ Top band with Christian lyrics, as well as other originals.

On November 16:
On November 16th, we welcome David Roy and 316 Band. Enjoy the rockin’ sound of cover songs and originals alike. This will be a “great night of Christian Rock Music with great drumming, guitars, vocals and testimonies too”, per our photographer John Ebersole.
