Discipleship Director John Mitchell

john-mitchell-97241I was saved in April 1992 at Gentian Baptist Church in Columbus GA.  I have been involved in leadership and teaching for the past 37 years, working in a variety of capacities from military to young adult Sunday Schools to Youth Director.

I am married to Judy and have one son, Trey.

I have a passion for teaching God’s truth and bringing the past into modern day life.  God’s word is true and not to be played with.  What you see is what you get with me: passion, understanding, respect and a smile.

My favorite passage is John 10 verses 27-30, which gives me hope in my sinful nature:  ” My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow Me.  I give them eternal life and they shall never perish, neither shall anyone snatch them out of my hand. My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one”.

Julie Drenning

7She has been the bookkeeper for her family business for over 15 years. That experience led her to become the Church Treasurer in 2013. She coordinates the Saturday Night Live Coffee House Events for the church.

Julie is dedicated to passionately serving Jesus.

“Since being saved at a young age in 1975, I have been serving the Lord at my home church in various areas. Led by the Lord to North Glen in December 2013 and excited to see Him at work leading others into the family to serve each other and our surrounding community. One of my favorite verses is Romans 8:28 – For we know that in ALL things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”

Kim Gayleard

Children’s Ministry Leader

3I have been married for 25 years with three children, and have been the Children’s Director for a little over a year. My experiences consist of seven years of special needs experience.

I’m a former PTA President at my children’s elementary school, and now home school our youngest who is on the autism spectrum.

I love working in the children’s ministry because it is awesome to teach and watch our children grow spiritually.

My favorite verse is Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me.

The Apostle Paul said these words because he knew no matter what he had to endure God would be with him. As a person who was born with Spina Bifida and Lymphedema I have learned to lean on this verse. I am in a wheelchair and consider it a gift from God. God allows things in your life to bring joy!

I am so happy you stopped by our website today! We look forward to teaching you and your children.”
